Siah Bonita Hagin has a passion for working with children and families and has worked for the New York City Department of Education for the past fourteen years. Her experience includes seven years as a child welfare specialist for The Administration for Children Services. In 2003 she left ACS to work with the New York City's school system as a school counselor. In 2011, with a passion for pouring into the lives of young girls, she established Real Girls Real Feelings, an empowerment curriculum-based group for girls ages nine and ten.

Ms. Hagin is currently a School Counselor with the New York City Department of Education. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1995 from York College, and two Master’s degrees from Long Island University - a Master of Science in Education in Guidance and Counseling, and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. She also obtained her Certification in Family Counseling. She currently is pursuing her degree in School Administration.

As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse she began writing poetry on her journey to healing. Ms. Hagin is a Christian and an active member of the Greater Allen cathedral located in Jamaica, New York, where she co-chairs The Children's Grief Share Ministry and Haven for Healing, a support group for survivors. She currently resides in Long Island, New York.
