Grammarly is an online proofreading and editing software that many writers use to not only spellcheck their work, but it has also been used to detect grammatical errors and awkward sentences.
There is a free and a premium (paid) version of the software. The free version is offered as a browser extension, which is great for online content creation, as well as for individuals who are writing their books using an online platform like Google Docs. In addition, there is a free integration with Microsoft Word, which means that you can utilize the software offline. The downside is that this integration is not supported in Mac.
The premium version is great for writers who are looking for additional features. This version provides vocabulary enhancement suggestions, detects plagiarism, provides citation suggestions, and offers over 400 checks and features.
So whether you are creating content for your blog, social media posts or writing a book, Grammarly is an easy-to-use, fast and efficient tool.
This app is perfect for clarity and simplicity. The editor not only provides improvement suggestions, but it also checks readability and boldly highlights passive voice, excessive adverbs and complicated, hard-to-read sentences. Another great feature is the ability to import your Word formatted manuscript directly into the editor. Once the document has been uploaded you may edit it in Hemingway and then export it as a text, PDF, or Word document.
The Hemingway Editor is available for both Mac and Windows users, and the desktop version costs only $19.99. This app is another easy-to-use tool that works like your own personal editor, helping you to write with power and clarity.
We all use clichés. When searching for the right words to express our thoughts a cliché is oftentimes the first thing that comes to mind. Clichés are familiar and comfortable, but the reality is that too many overused expressions lead to boring, predictable content. So, to avoid using worn-out phrases we recommend using Cliché Finder.
This online tool allows you to copy and paste your text in the text field and once submitted it finds and highlights clichés you may have used. Overused phrases can then be replaced with original, creative content.
